Sri Lanka Photoblog Part 5: Sigiriya

Sigiriya

Sigiriya

Sigiriya

Sigiriya, the ancient rock fortress capital of King Kasyapa’s illegitimate kingdom-cum-Buddhist monastery. We read every plaque and visited the museum to learn that Sri Lankan kingdoms throughout the years traded with merchants from Rome to China. Besides that, the monolith is nearly 200m high and impressive to look at from every angle.

All photos were shot on 35mm film, using my little Ricoh camera, which I got from Lucky35. To read more stories from Sri Lanka, click here.
