Maushmi and I will forever remember Dambulla as “the Dambulla Dupe” (playfully pronounced ‘doop’). That’s the commemorative name for the time we naively believed everything our guesthouse host told us about travelling away from the cities in Sri Lanka. But we mustn’t forget how great we felt arriving in Dambulla just in time to get some vadai before they packed up, and climb up the Rock Temple just before the sun set.

All photos were shot on 35mm film, using my little Ricoh camera, which I got from Lucky35. To read more stories from Sri Lanka, click here.
