We walked up and down Kandy’s streets and sampled all the different food. Unlike Colombo, there were plenty of families, young couples and elderly people out and about. After a day out traipsing through the Udawatte Kele Sanctuary (where we saw monkeys and kingfishers around the lake) visiting the Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic and falling in love with traditional dancers with beautiful, charismatic eyes, we researched the big Buddha statue up on the hill. The next day, we made the trek up to the Bahiravokanda Vihara Buddha Statue and admired the giant long kites people flew in the clear sky.

All photos were shot on 35mm film, using my little Ricoh camera, which I got from Lucky35. To read more stories from Sri Lanka, click here.
